Event Description

Export control regulations are designed to protect US national security, prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, protect national resources, and support international agreements and human rights. Export control regulations apply to the shipment of items/commodities overseas and the transfer of information and technology to foreign persons - activities conducted each day at Princeton. Princeton University policy ensures that research projects conducted at the university are exempt from export control regulations. However, export control regulations may still apply to activities at the university.

The Introduction to Export Controls – Basics class will provide a beginner’s overview of US government export control regulations. It will focus on the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and how they apply to activities at Princeton University. This class is open to all members of the University community (faculty, researchers, staff, and students).
