DOE Offers Supplemental Funding to Support Students and Scientists from Ukraine

April 6, 2022

On April 4, 2022, J. Stephen Binkley, Acting Director, Office of Science at the U.S. Department of Energy, released a Dear Colleague letter announcing the availability of supplemental funding to support the hosting of students and scientists impacted by the war in Ukraine.  The letter encourages currently-supported researchers to consider requesting supplemental funds to accelerate scientific discovery by hosting or collaborating with students and scientists who have been impacted by the conflict, pursuant to the funding opportunity announcement (FOA) – DE-FOA-002562. DOE will work with other U.S. Government agencies to coordinate logistical details, such as visas, as needed.

The Dear Colleague letter contains contact information to help identify displaced students or scientists if current connections do not exist.

Supplemental funding requests will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The Graduate School currently anticipates opening the VSRC application process in mid-May, with VSRC’s again able to be enrolled at Princeton beginning this fall (assuming no Covid-related changes).

Please review the Dear Colleague letter for further details.
