NSF Issues FY 2020 Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide
Feb. 4, 2020
The National Science Foundation has released the revised version of the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (NSF 20-1). The new PAPPG will be effective for proposals submitted or due, and awards made, on or after June 1, 2020. Significant changes include, but are not limited to:
- The requirement of the use of a new format for the submission of both biosketch and current and pending documents. NSF is partnering with the NIH to use SciENcv: Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae as an NSF-approved format for preparation of both documents. This new format will not be required until implementation of the new PAPPG on June 1, 2020. The NSF has developed websites with additional information for the preparation of the biographical sketch and current and pending support. Additionally, the new PAPPG also provides clarifications to the requirements for current and pending support coverage.
- New requirement for proposing organizations to submit government-wide representations and certifications in the System for Award Management (SAM).
- New requirement for providing e-mail documentation of Program Officer approval for the submission of RAPID and EAGER proposals.
NSF plans to conduct a webinar covering these changes on February 6 at 2PM EST. Visit the webinar website to register for this event. The guidelines in the current version of the PAPPG remain in effect through May 31, 2020. The new version of the PAPPG becomes effective on June 1, 2020.
