No-Cost Extensions
NCE's must be submitted at least 10 days prior to award expiration, or NASA will most likely deny the request: this includes 1st NCE's.
Recipients may extend the expiration date of an award if additional time beyond the established end date is required to assure adequate completion of the original scope of work within the funds already made available. For this purpose, the recipient may make a one-time no-cost extension, not to exceed 12 months, prior to the established expiration date. Written notification of such an extension, with a supporting justification, must be submitted to the NASA Grant Officer via the NSSC's no-cost extension webform at least 10 days prior to the expiration of the award. A copy of the extension must also be forwarded to the cognizant Office of Naval Research (ONR) office if administration has been delegated to ONR (verify on the award docs).
Reporting
Annual progress reports are required, detailing their project accomplishments, dissemination of results, and future plans.
- Include a summary of project achievements, how findings are being shared, and upcoming plans for the project.
- Program officers may withhold further funding until an annual progress report is submitted and approved.
- Specifics can be found in the GCAM (Grant and Cooperative Agreements Manual) and on the award paperwork.
Progress reports are due 60 days prior to your award's anniversary date and should be submitted electronically as PDF files.
